ABOUT

I am an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of California, Los Angeles.  I study campaigns and elections -- mainly in the U.S.  My forthcoming book, The Message Matters, will be available in 2009 from Princeton University Press.

In 2004, I ran a large field experiment on the effects of advertising; and in 2008, I ran a six-wave panel study of the presidential election with Simon Jackman called The Cooperative Campaign Analysis Project.  Click on the links to the right for more information.
