Cooperative Projects

Starting with the 2006 Cooperative Congressional Election Study (Steve Ansolabehere, PI), I have been involved with bringing to field large, cooperative surveys of elections.  This fall, in the US we are studying the presidential election (Simon Jackman, co-PI) and in the UK and Germany we are studying the upcoming elections (Ray Duch and Simon Jackman co-PIs).  We are also running a parallel survey in Australia about the American elections (sponsored by the US Studies Center at Sydney).

In the US, Britain, Germany, Canada, and Australia, we are running national studies about politics, elections, and public mood.

The CCAP Sample

Click HERE to download a complete, transparent, and publicly circulated description of exactly how the CCAP sample was constructed by YouGov/Polimetrix.

This description includes variable names from various Census projects from which the target is constructed and explains how variables are recoded in some cases.

Contrary to popular myth, there are no secrets to the process YouGov/Polimetrix calls “sample matching.”

This description will appear in print soon in the Journal of Elections, Public Opinion, and Parties in a piece called “Primary Politics,” by Simon Jackman and Lynn Vavreck.
