I see you're using Internet Explorer.  Try Firefox, you'll like it better.

      · Firefox blocks pop-up windows.
      · It stops viruses and spyware.
      · It keeps Microsoft from controlling the future of the internet.

Click the button on the right to download Firefox.  It's free.

IMPORTANT: If you have not read my Basic HTML Editing Instructions, do that first!

I have removed these instructions. It really was a ridiculous process, plus I don’t have an example anymore since I don’t publish to .Mac anymore.

Here is my recommendation if you want a different slideshow than the standard .Mac one:

PUBLISH TO A FOLDER on your iDisk rather than just hitting the .Mac “Publish” button.

I know what you’re thinking - you’ll lose .Mac only features! Here are my solutions for you:

1. Enhanced Slideshow:

Use one of these Slideshow_assets alternatives:

Uwe Hoffman

Joshua Bunting

2. Comments:

Add a comments widget from http://js-kit.com/comments/ using my Basic HTML editing instructions.

3. Password protection:

Unfortunately, I don’t have a solution for this one at the moment, not if you are publishing to your iDisk anyway. If you are publishing to another server via ftp, that host may have options for you.

4. Counter:

http://www.statcounter.com - much more informative than the .Mac counter anyway!

Directions here.

5. Incremental Publishing:

While I can’t fix the fact that you will have to republish the whole site to the folder each time, if you are uploading to a 3rd party host (not your iDisk), you can use Transmit and it is smart enough to compare file sizes, etc and only upload things that are truly different than the last time. Images, etc are often skipped. http://www.panic.com
