Well, Superweek is over for another year and it was a fun week as always filled with good racing, lots of family time and of course - drama. The week started off with a bang the very first day as I was caught up in a small crash not five minutes into the race - Nice! It wasn’t a big deal though, a little road rash but nothing major. I won that day and grabbed ahold of the leader’s jersey while my teammate, Sarah, pulled within one point of the Sprint jersey. Then in a nutshell this is what happened the rest of the week: I won three more races, finished second in two and won the Overall for the second year in a row, Sarah finished second in one of the road races and won the Sprint jersey, Rachel rode excellent all week and really stepped it up for the team, I threw myself and my bike on the ground in a spectacular finish line crash to give myself a slight concussion and a severe headache for the rest of the week, I broke my beautiful Orbea, I had a bike change in a criterium without taking a free lap (cyclocross style), we nearly got hit by a stray firework during the South Shore Frolic Festival and we drank lots of great Wisconsin beer. New Glarus Brewery makes an amazing cherry lambic Belgium ale (BamBam you would love it!) Ok, so now I am in the Denver airport on my way to Boise to race the Well’s Fargo Twilight Crit tonight. I finally make it home tomorrow for some rest.....what a week!
