WuZu is an exchange project realized in collaboration of the SYTU School of Design Wuxi (People’s Republic of China) and Hgkz, the School of Art and Design Zürich (Switzerland).
Chinese and Swiss students from different study fields such as industrial design, visual communication, new media, environment and architecture among others work in mixed teams
on a common topic. All in all 44 students participate in this year’s WuZu project,
advised by a team of six teachers.
Summer School WuZu06 started on September 10 with the arrival of the Swiss delegation
at Wuxi and will last until September 27 when final results will be presented
We spent the first week with a research excursion to ancient Chinese villages in Zheijiang
and Anhui province.
Now, we are back in Wuxi and continue our work on the SYTU campus. Students are developing design concepts on seven different subtopics related to Chinese design tradition and philosophy and the common topic „design for pleasurable living“: communication, heating, water, dreams and wishes, pleasure for old people, pleasure for children, games for adults.
This blog is an open space for WuZu06. Every day another student’s team will give you a very personal and special insight to our project. Enjoy your visits to our blog!
