It’s all the rage. Who needs the gym when you’ve got 400 super duty firebrick that weigh 20 lbs. each? So I spent this weekend transporting these brick from Windham, OH to Verona KY. For those of you following along in your atlas’ that’s basically all the way across the state of Ohio. It’s not a feat I would recommend.
Nevertheless, a big thank you goes to Nate Warren who’s been sitting on these brick for nearly four years for me. Also to Robbie Kempf for use of the trailer.
Ada and I went out to the farm this morning to unload, sort, and stack.
Well, Ada went to supervise and tell daddy what to do---and to ask “what’s taking so long?”
Basically I now have 400+ brick. 21 of which are ready to use. The rest have mortar on one face that needs to be ground off... FUN!!!!!
Oh well, at least we have brick and kiln building is on the horizon.
Before......
After....
The sawmill shed, a work in progress....
kiln site (can you see it?)
Cabin site and root cellar
