Training organizations to Innovate

What do Gumlink, a B to B manufacturer of chewing gum, Middelfart Sparekasse, a community bank, Lego, a leading manufacturer of toys, Danfoss an instrumentation company,  Bang & Olufsen one of  world’s premium brands in entertainment products, Nokia, the fastest growing mobile phone company and Novo Nordisk, a world leader in insulin and diabetes care have in common?

They have put their resources together to fund world’s first innovation school dedicated to training corporate teams (as opposed to individuals) in “Concept Making”-  to build capacities within the organizations to develop, design and execute radical business concepts. Anna Kirah, the Dean of the 180 Academy will share her experience of driving innovation training in corporate settings at the 7th CII-NID Design Summit.

An insider’s view of how Asian Companies are rising to the top and how design can help your global aspirations
Asian companies are fast emerging as formidable competition to established brands. For example, Samsung has already emerged as a market leader in some of the technology product categories replacing the dominance of companies like Sony. Recent entrants like Acer and Lenovo harbour ambitions of rising to the top.

Companies from the emerging markets are quickly integrating innovation practices into their development process to compete. However, companies are embedded in local cultures with local values that color their approach to innovation. How have local values affected global competitiveness?

Jun Lee will present the challenges and opportunities that values driven innovation has created as companies prepare themselves for succeeding in global markets.
