Joachim Jake Layes

After graduation in 1995 from Art Center College of Design in Switzerland and US, Joachim Jake Layes worked as product designer for Philips Design in The Netherlands (Eindhoven) for 2 years and as senior product designer at Philips Design in Hong Kong for 3 years, overlooking the product design development for portable audio products from concept to production.
 
In 2000, he started working for Alias Systems, first in Tokyo, Japan, and between November 2000 and July 2002 in Singapore as AsiaPacific Product Design Consultant. In June 2002 he returned to Tokyo as Business Development Manager for the Industrial Design market of all of Asia Pacific. At the beginning of February 2006, he started working for Autodesk, Inc. He is currently AsiaPacific Industry Solutions Manager at Autodesk, HongKong, with specific focus on the industrial design market in India and the Greater China region.
 
Over the years, Joachim has met many Designers and companies of different industries and countries from within AsiaPacific. He has given Design workshops and lectures and is a frequent speaker at design related conference. Just recently at the Guangzhou Design Week in November, 2007, Joachim presented a key note speech at the Automotive Design Forum, on trends and value of design for competitiveness of businesses.
 
Joachim Jake Layes currently lives and works in HongKong.
