The inauguration of the 7th CII-NID Design Summit is a celebration of sorts. It is a celebration of India’s commitment to transform itself through design. Recent announcement of a National Design Policy by the government of India heralds a new era in the evolution of design profession in India. This gathering of design thinkers from around the world also signifies recognition India is receiving worldwide as a key player in the global economy. The inaugural session will be graced by Hon. Minister for Industry and Commerce, Mr. Kamal Nath, who has consistently recognized the value of design and has used his influence to get the the National Design Policy approved by the cabinet.
