We are seeking qualified candidates for the following position:
Director, Cancer Research Center

Position Description:
The newly hired faculty will be responsible for developing a strong extramurally funded Cancer Research Center. The position is supported with funds for a technician, a postdoctoral fellow, travel and supplies for 5 years. The salary is competitive and compatible with the experience.
The position is subject to the availability of external funds.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. or M.D. or equivalent degree with a minimum of 5 years of independent research experience in cancer research. 1) R-, P- or U-type support from NIH. 2) Excellent record of scholarly productivity through cancer research publications in peer-reviewed journals. 3) Established program of research with continuity of funding for senior faculty. 4) Demonstrated effectiveness in mentoring graduate students, postdoctoral fellows or junior faculty.

The Universidad Central del Caribe was founded in 1976, as a private non-profit institution. The University is composed of the School of Medicine, the Graduate Program in the Biomedical Sciences, the Radiologic Technology Program and the Substance Abuse Counseling Program. The University is accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and the Puerto Rico Council on Higher Education (PRCHE). The University has a solid background in research activities in the areas of neuroscience, substance abuse, immunology, virology and cellular and molecular biology.
