The purpose of the Bridges to the Doctorate Program is to increase the number of students from groups underrepresented in biomedical research who successfully complete a Ph.D. degree.

This initiative promotes an inter-institutional partnership between Universidad Central del Caribe and the University of Texas Medical Branch to develop well-integrated developmental activities that will increase students’ preparation and skills as they advance academically in the pursuit and successful completion of the Ph.D. degree in biomedical sciences.
