Admission Requirements
Applicants must fulfill the following requirements and submit the indicated documents in order to be considered eligible for admission:
1. Application form with the completed required information and non-refundable
application fee.
2. A bachelor degree in natural sciences or its equivalent* from an accredited institution
of higher education with a minimum grade point average of 2.75 overall and of 3.0 or
above in science subjects.
3. Official transcripts from each college or university attended for all undergraduate and
graduate work.
4. Official scores of the general Graduate Record Examination (GRE) taken within five
years of the application date.
5. An essay indicating why you are interested in a graduate degree in biomedical sciences
6. Three (3) letters of recommendation, including at least two (2) from former
professors in the student’s area of specialization pertaining to the last completed
degree.
7. Interview with the Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences Admissions Committee.
8. Certificate of Penal Antecedents issued by the Police Department of the pertinent state or country.
DEADLINES
It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that the Admissions Office receives all the documentation required, including the completed application form, no later than
March 1 or April 1, as late admission for applicants enrolling in the Fall Semester (August).
*Candidates must demonstrate having approved courses required for a natural sciences degree: 2 courses in biology; 2 courses in chemistry; 2 courses in physics; 2 courses in mathematics. It is recommended that applicants complete courses such as calculus I, statistics, organic chemistry, biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology or genetics, microbiology, immunology and/or other courses related to the area of specialization prior to joining the program.
