One night the wind was blowing so hard as to knock the bird feeders about. To remedy the racket and prevent one of the feeders from breaking apart I took it down and set it upon the deck.
Over the next few days I noticed the finches, toehees and titmice visit it in the new location.
With a little adjustment and setup I had the camera with it’s wired remote in front of the feeder. Over the next few days the cat, Sparkplug, and I lay down on the other side of the sliding glass door waiting for our moments while sipping morning coffee.
After reviewing the assortment of images the birds gave up I was fascinated by the Titmouse photos. This species has always caught my gaze, looking back at me with a certain knowingness.
Inspired by these thoughts I set out to animate and share that timid but confident reflection.
The music is from the closing moments of Cat Steven’s Lilywhite. The transitional images are looking East towards Mount Lassen.
Like life this short vision is not perfect but only a shared moment.

Love,
