Karyn Oliver is quickly moving from being one of Baltimore’s best kept secrets to major prominence as a singer, songwriter and performer. She is a prolific writer, a strong player and a performer who, upon being seen and heard, makes people wonder how someone so talented can still be in Baltimore. This track, “America”, is the first track from her new CD “Hurricane” which is now in the hands of the replication factory. Karyn is joined on it by Deanna Bogart on alto sax, Bill Patrick on bass, Glenn Workman on organ and Mark Ayers on drums. After hearing the rough mix of “America” Karyn said she heard room for organ. I said I hear sax. Glenn and Deanna said they’d do it and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results.
