Now there’s a good question!  The reason you don’t know what a wedding stylist does is because, as far as I know,  I’ve just made up the title!

Over the course of getting married, helping friends get married, and photographing weddings, I have come to realize that there is this little niche out there that needs to be filled.  A little vacuum in the wedding world that lies right in my sweet spot.  Some other words for this job would be “creative director” or “aesthetic coordinator” “wedding designer” or “right brian for hire”...but “wedding stylist” seems best to me.

On the one hand, my good friend Chelsea Petaja, who exudes creativity from every pore and had already made her own lovely inspiration board, wanted someone with wedding experience and good ideas to bounce her ideas off of and expand her vision.  She also realized that she would have other things on her mind on her wedding day and needed someone she could trust to set up her wedding the way she wanted it...even though she was totally capable herself, she needed help.

On the other hand,  I have friends that are math teachers and even event planners, that are blessed with the other side of the brain...the left one...the one that doesn’t get much action in my head.  :)   They love and can appreciate when things look awesome but they don’t know how to get there.  They have some loose ideas,  know some things they like, and may even have their hearts set on certain details, but they need help envisioning it all.  These are the same people that would love to hire an interior designer and a wardrobe stylist.

So that’s where I can help!  These are the things I’m good at!  I’m already up on all the latest wedding trends, I’ve been involved in so many weddings...I know what works and what doesn’t, I love interior design so I know how to set up a space and create an environment, I am obsessed with color and creating unique color palettes, I’ve done graphic design so I’m educated on logos and invitations and paper goods, I’ve photographed so many weddings that I know what’s going to look best for pictures, I love fashion so I can help you look your best, and perhaps, most of all, I can help you coordinate all the elements of your wedding so that you end up with a balanced, quirky, and cohesive look.  I swear, I’m not a big fan of self promotion, but its just fun to discover a new niche that fits me perfectly.

No matter what your wedding budget is, odds are its more than you’ll ever spend on a party....make it count!  You can ask nearly anyone in the wedding industry and they’ll tell you, just because you spend money on a wedding doesn’t mean it will look good.  So much is determined in the style choices you make along the way.  Celebrities know...they almost all hire a stylist to dress them for big and even little events.  And you’d hire an interior decorator or designer if you wanted your place to look awesome...

“But then aren’t you a wedding designer/planner?”, you ask.  No, good question.  After (or between) my help, you can either hire a wedding planner or plan it yourself, if you are so gifted and have the time.  I don’t do the organizational side of it, I’m right brained, remember?

So...how ‘bout it?  Whether you just want to have a conversation, want ideas. need help setting up, or even more serious help....I’m here for ya!
