So...lately I’ve been really into making these mood boards. Mostly, I’ve been taking pictures of weddings but now I’m so inspired by the latent potential resting in an event like a wedding. Sure, at the end of the day, the actual union and commitment between two people is what its all about but, there are few, if any, other events in our culture that afford us with such a unique opportunity for expression. Are there any other days in our lives that we plan for months or even years in advance? What other days do we get to invite all our favorite people to a party and they all hop on planes and come? And how many other parties will you have this kind of budget for? Whatever your budget is, its probably more than you’ve ever spent on a day! Well, I say, make it count! In all those little decisions you make along the way, the sum total can be greater than the parts if you have some vision for it. Its your wedding....make it a unique reflection of you! (The new plural you, of course!)
So, to get your creative juices flowing....I’ve made a whole bunch of wedding boards. They range in feel, color, budget, formality and are all weddings I’d love to shoot...or even just attend. Just remember that its not how much you spend on your wedding that will make it look good, its how you spend it.
To illustrate this point I’m starting with a really simple, fun, and casual wedding. A wedding like this could be done with a very small budget but you’d get a lot of bang for your buck.
