SOFT FOCUS [V0-]
Start at the obvious crack / flake and then climb the face surrounding the thin seam. Finish by pulling over the lip / arete above where the seam ends.
NORTH FACE ARETE [V0] Hug the arete / bulge and ascend the nice flake system that follows half the way up the slab. Finish with comfort on solid knobs & crystals. The downclimb is either to reverse the problem or walk around to the west side of the boulder and follow the ramps/ledges to the obvious step off onto the boulder lower boulder. A little scary to descend this way if your under 5’10”. There are several easy descents surrounding it though that just involve hopping to a pad provided by a friend.
PARASOL [V1]
A very useful item to have handy while out exploring ERock, parasol means “for the sun” in spanish. A trusty umbrella will do the trick of serving both as a protector from the rain as well as from the sun’s rays. This side of the Lunch Rocks cluster doesn’t get direct sunlight, hence the green mosses & lichens. Further, after starting however low you want on the flake system in the middle of the lower face, this problem traverses through the undercling flake that is similar in shape to pinching a large parasol. You of course have as many options available to you as you wish for the topout, but two options are shown here. Either work left into the topout of the NORTH FACE ARETE or continue straight up the bare slab. Don’t be fooled by the lichen & moss, they merely rest themselves on top of some very decent knobs.
SUGAR ANTS [V1] Slightly more challenging than PARASOL, a very comfortable start empties you out onto the bulging arete/slab. The quantity of larger sized holds reduces the higher you go. Fortunately the landing is flat and easily protected with a single large pad and a good spotter.
