I’ve never been on this problem, but it looks beautiful and a wonderful way to clear your mind. The LDD says that “this classic rope climb has been bouldered many times to access some of the routes above it like CRUISIN’ FOR A BRUISIN’ and CAVE CRACK.” I want to stress that this line is about 40+ feet tall with horrible landing (aka death fall potential). So please use your head in climbing this solid line.
Again, I’ve never been on this problem, in fact I’ve never seen it. LDD: This wildly overhanging hands, fist and, and offwidth crack (essentially the opposite of JACKNIFE) is about 20 to 25 feet long. Start the problem as low into the pit as possible. Bring a headlamp or take some time to allow your eyes to adjust to the dark. The finish involves pulling around to the left of the boulder obstructing the top of the crack.
And again... I’ve never been on this line, so please correct me if the placement of the arrow is wrong. LDD: From the top of the Jacknife Boulder, descend the uphill side of the boulder and then head left around the boulder in front of you. In the next cave area you will see an obvious crack to the right that splits the west-facing slab. You can finish the route either after pulling around the rock that closes down over the crack in its middle or by continuing to where it ends near a tree.
