Welcome, Kaipo!

Some of you might know that for some time now, David has wanted a puppy.  It was very hard for us to leave our dog Finnegan when we moved, but our house down here isn’t set up for a larger dog who needs lots of running room.

After months of research, pleas and promises, we went to our local puppy place and found a sweet little ball of fur.  He came home on Sunday afternoon.

He is a Maltese Pom, 10 weeks old and weighs about 3 pounds.  We had a hard time choosing a name, and we appreciate everyone’s ideas and input!

His name is Kaipo Makani.  In Hawaiian, ‘Kaipo’ means sweetheart and ‘Makani’ means the wind.  He really IS a little sweetheart!

The cats are adjusting.  Della is completely fine with him already.  Dixie and Calypso still watch him rather warily, but they’re coming around.

I’ve put some more pictures on the Kaipo Photo Page.
