Why should I support a YWAMer?

This is a great question! As Christians, we are all part of the functioning body of Christ. Providing financial support is so much more than just sending money, it is partnering with what God is doing around the world. 

I have been honored with receiving the call to play a hands-on role in this process, helping to raise up young people who think and act according to the Word of God. It is a great privilege to see lives transformed as people discover who they are in Christ and then take that message back to their communities and overseas.

The Kingdom of God stretches far beyond the borders of YWAM but YWAM has played a key role in the spread of the gospel around the world since the 1970’s. YWAM is actually the largest missionary movement in history! The primary structure of YWAM has been maintained throughout its history and no YWAMer, not even Loren Cunningham (the founder), receives a salary. All YWAM missionaries rely on financial support to meet the day-to-day costs of living, travel expenses, mission trips, etc.

I personally feel a burden to see young people transformed in the way they see the world. The focus of my discipleship is to see students raised up with an understanding of what is really going on in the world; the battle of ideas and powers that we face. Of course merely understanding the ideas and problems falls short of change if we are not constantly empowered by the Holy Spirit. This is the second (and most important) area of discipleship focus, to encourage students to dive deeper into their personal relationship with Christ as we walk where He has called.
