Another one nil defeat all but ended our slim chances of going up and really the result was pretty much what we deserved. We lost Matt to illness on the morning of the game and so I went back to sweeper and that alligned with starting the game cold due to arriving just before kick off ultimately cost us.
Parks were one up before we’d drawn breath as I made a right balls up of a clearance which saw them rush through to score past Frank. The rest of the game frankly was one of few chances for either side with neither keeper really tested, Matt went close with a header in the first half but we didn’t create too much more. Parks were lively around the pitch and closed us down well but their best chances didn’t come until the second half when they caught us on the break a couple of times and a couple of cross shots went pretty close, in the end they were just about worth the win.
Pretty disappointing all in all, a long way to go to get beat but we can still have a say in the title race with both the top sides to play. Hopefully with Nik back we can regain a bit of cutting edge and get back to winning ways next week.
MOM - Possibly Andy Carr for coming all that way and not getting on..again! but on the playing front probably Andy King had the most solid game.
