Yes, it’s a big pitch is that.....

After the relative good feeling from last week this was a bit of a let down, Sutts were ok, nothing special but they kept the ball, we didn’t, hence a comfortable win for the sarf lundenerrrrrs.  Actually the start was quite promising, we all got there on time, main pitch, nets pegged out ok etc and with Aaron pulling strings in midfield we were the better side for about 20 minutes. I got caught in a stiff breeze and found myself bursting into the box like a let down balloon only for my fierce cross to be cut out. Ben then got through only to realise he didn’t know what to do with his left foot and finally sutts woke up.

Dan wanted to go off after 20 mins citing exhaustion but andy astridge beat him to it with a twisted knee and chris came on and immediately came close with a couple of well struck shots, however we were soon behind as we failed to clear our lines and a clever cross was volleyed in from close range.

From there on it was pretty grim viewing, second half we barely put two passes together and sutts exhibited more and more control. Aaron went off with a twisted big toe after blocking a shot (perhaps he knew what was coming!) and was replaced by Manu. Their second had me caught in two minds, one of which clearly belonged to someone who’d never played football before and it was that one which couldn’t decide whether to clear the ball with my head or arse. In the end neither was achieved, more a pathetic, morecame and wise ‘bring me sunshine’ move which missed it completely, leaving the easiest of tap ins. Not content with that, i miss controlled a crossfield pass which allowed my man to run through and belt home a third as i grovelled after him like an errant husband begging his wife not to leave him....sad.

We had the last word as Jase neatly headed in chris’ corner but twas too little too late, all in all one to forget and we need to seriously buck up back in the league.

MOM- Jase ran his socks off and dozie and matt did well but chris bull had a stormer and is amusing our oppo every week with every call sounding like he’s auditioning for some great orators part in the theatre.....’No! that was never a corner man!!....marvellous stuff.
