Music & Ministry
It seems like just yesterday when a mixed choir of 35 and brass quintet boarded the coach bus for O'Hare International Airport. That was Music & Ministry in the Great Cities of Europe 2006—London, Moscow, Vienna & Murska Sobota, Slovenia. In the intervening years, significant preparations have been made for MMGCE 2009. First, all across the campus, off campus study programs are being developed and refined under the banner Wheaton in the World. This acknowledges that global understanding is essential to fulfill the mission of Wheaton College. Second, young performers need experiences that will deepen, widen and strengthen their artistic gifts in the context of Christian mission. MMGCE does all this and more. Consider this website your home base for exploring, planning & funding this exciting undertaking.
The journey continues now…
MMGCE exists:
1) To declare God’s glory among the nations through music and other means of witness (Psalm 96:1-3).
2) To be ambassadors and reconciling agents for Christ everywhere we go; to go about doing good, being prepared to preach the word in season and out of season (Acts 10:38, II Corinthians 5:19b-20, II Timothy 4:1-2).
3) To encourage and support local Christians in their evangelism and outreach (Romans 15:4-6, II Corinthians 7:14).
4) To devote ourselves to prayer for and with those whom we serve (Colossians 4:2-6).
