Summit Day

OK, so the summit day spanned two calendar days.  But we were up for 24 hours straight (our guide Josh forced us to stay up late just to complete the 24 hours) so I call it a summit day.  It was a special day, and most of the hard work was done during the night with no time for pictures.
Mt. Rainier Summit Day
My last picture before going to sleep
This is the sunset on one of my trips to the bathroom while trying to sleep
Mt. St. Hellens
Wake up time!
Breakfast
John outside getting ready
Me with my headlamp
Other teams heading across the Cowlitz Glacier
‘High Break” There is a lot of climbing between the last picture and this one.
Joel and friends resting
Sunrise
I think I’m gonna make it
First picture in the summit crater!
Chelsea very happy that we made it
Signing the summit register!
Yeah, my camera rolled down there from up here on the way down.
The register signing turned into a break
The altitude makes you lazy
That’s the path across the summit crater
Steam rising from crater vents
Justin showing off his ability to perform tricks on the summit
On the top!
I made it
The BAWT Group!
Which way now?
Thanks for all my great supporters
Overexposed, but I like the ice
A break on the way down
Look at those crevases!
Yummy Beer with my climbing friends
And pizza!
Summit Certificates!
Then the pink playboy bunny hat came out
The guides are now the victims
And somehow a blow-up spiky ball was found near the hat?
let the beatings begin
“Should I put it on?”
Looking good!
Josh is enjoying it a little too much
Andres (another guide) comes over and gives it a try.
