This was one of those jobs that came to me a few years ago and never went anywhere. It was sort of a dream project to me at first. I was approached to be the illustrator and creative director for an upstart local brewery.
I never get to work for anybody local. I love beer, and desperately

My second issue of Wolverine hits the stands tomorrow.
Daniel Way provided me with a rather nice character-driven script and gave me lots of chances to draw some of my favorite stuff.
I love to illustrate people interacting and coming up with creative storytelling methods and interesting

The above image will soon be featured on an issue of Marvel’s Dark Tower series. It’s dawn in ink, with Photoshop color. I’m almost completely (and unusually) happy with this piece.
Marvel eventually decided that they wanted more of a “blazing-sun” behind the main character, so I posted the

Sticking with the theme of my last post....
I couldn’t resist sharing my thoughts on these thoughtless posters. Several of these could have been greatly enhanced as illustrations, rather than photoshop “mock-ups”. How magical could the Golden Compass posters be, with some paint and imagination?

Above is one of my favorite movie posters ever. I had this in my room as a kid. Man I miss Bob Peak. This illustration, along with scores of others, made me idolize illustrator Bob Peak. He’s one of the reasons I became an illustrator. He’s one of the reasons I chose Art Center as my college.
