1985 SNAPSHOT # 2
As promised, here’s the second in a weekly sneak-peek snapshot series. This image comes from the soon-to-be-released cover to issue 1985 #1.
I decided to paint the covers for this series. Unlike the book’s interiors (done with ink & brush), the covers are being done primarily in acrylics, ink, dyes, prismacolor pencils, and gouache. The finished painting (about 11”x17”) is then scanned and made print-ready in Photoshop.
The hi-res is being uploaded to Marvel’s server right now.
Below we’ve got a “work in progress” shot taken in the studio the other day......
