The Israel Museum is basically closed for upgrade, but there are two sections that remain:  The Shrine of the books, and the children’s museum.  The picture above is from the Shrine of the Books.  
 
This is my first shot at a blog so please be patient  
 
I’m getting ready for a trip to Israel to work on the Dead Sea Scrolls.  I’ll be packing a lot of equipment and I am anticipating some “issues” at the air port.  Travel has become such a hassle that I actually try to NOT travel anymore, at least by plane.  My photo gear will include a Nikon D3 some lenses and some flash equipment.  I am also bringing a ‘blad with a Phase One P45 back.  That’s a $45,000 rig that we are testing for the digital capture of the scrolls.  I have packed up everything in a “just so ever” legal carry on camera bag. I am hoping for the best....
