A trio of major incidents and some excellent flat-out close racing marked Race 1 at Lakeside. Pole-sitter Buddy was spun on lap 8 but recovered well to grab 3rd. Majortom threaded through the drama to lead by lap 10 but struggled with tyre wear to relinquish the lead on lap 19 when a major front straight accident let Ink sneak into the lead. G-man finally over-taxed his tyres on the last lap, a puncture allowing Majortom to snatch back 2nd place.
