About GW Democrats
Started in August 2006, GW Democrats is home for progressive/democratic activism at GWU. Through voter registration, distributing free safe-sex supplies, working on environmental issues--such as banning styrofoam in the District, working to bring US troops home from Iraq, and volunteering monthly at Thaddeus Stevens Elementary School, the oldest public school in DC, the GW Dems serve GW and the community.
All events and membership is completely free and open to all students at GWU.
GW Dems is charted by the Young Democrats of America, the George Washington University, and is the only collegiate chapter of the Progressive Democrats of America.
