Thanks to the support from numerous sponsors and volunteers, the Becoming an Outdoors-Woman Field Day held at the John Sevier Hunter Education Facility in Knox County on June 16 was a great success. A variety of classes were offered which included: All Terrain Vehicle Operation, Women's Self Defense, Introduction to Firearms, Basic Archery, Dutch Oven Cooking, Backyard Wildscaping and Boating Safety.

The BOW program is primarily aimed at women, but is an opportunity for anyone 18 years or older to learn outdoor skills usually associated with hunting and fishing, but useful for many outdoor pursuits. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is now offering BOW and Beyond BOW workshops through out the year and across the state. If you have any questions about the program or if you would like to receive information on upcoming programs, simply send an e-mail to don.hosse@state.tn.us . We hope to see you at a future event.
