Taras Nahirniak is a freelance arranger and composer who has numerous published works. He writes and composes for many vocal groups, drum corps, and marching bands in the United States, Europe and Japan. Taras is a sought after composer who won the 2002 Wisconsin Choral Directors Association composers award and was recently commissioned to compose a 5 movement fully orchestrated piece for the Madison Ballet. The piece, “Night Dances” was performed by the Madison Symphony Orchestra at the opening of the Overture Center. In 1997 his full scale musical “Everyman” was debuted in Madison and was later performed in California. Taras is the choral director and chief orchestrator for the Kids From Wisconsin. He is also the music director at Bethany United Methodist Church. Taras lives in the Madison area with his wife Lori and three children Mykhailo, Tatyana, and Andryi.
