Each year Staunton Harold Sailing Club holds its annual Fireball Open Meeting. This is a great chance to race against many of the best fireball sailors from across the UK. Traditionally held at the beginning of the sailing season, this is a very popular event with over 30 boats attending each year.

There will be a great value 3 course dinner after racing on Saturday. Camping is possible on site. For more information please contact Fleet Captain Rob Watson 07768 040049

Fireball Open Meeting

Club Profile

Staunton Harold is home to one of the largest and most active Fireball fleets in the country. Expect to find the fleet out in force for their annual open meeting!

No club racing takes place on the open meeting days, ensuring there’s plenty of room both on the water and in the changing rooms for the 30-40 boats expected at this meeting. You can also expect an excellent evening meal on the Saturday after sailing.

How to get there:

From M1 Junction 24, take the A453 towards and past East Midlands Airport. Around 2 miles after the airport, in a small village called Isley Walton, turn right towards Melbourne. At the T-junction in the centre of Melbourne, turn left and follow this road out of the village. Shortly after leaving the village, the signposted entrance to the reservoir is on the right hand side.

Accommodation:

Free camping is available at the club. B&Bs and hotels available close by, a list of which is available on the club website.
