Sheldon takes a risk and gets to the point

Sheldon, the manager, Initiator of the conversation:  You suspect your best employee has been posting for a new position within the organization. You would hate to lose them so you are nervous about raising your suspicions with her because you don't want to put the idea of moving on into her head.  However, the prospect of having to replace this employee seems rather daunting.

Fanny, the employee, Receiver of the conversation:  You are considering looking for a new job.  You are bored and feeling unchallenged by your current assignment. You have not raised this with your boss for three reasons: maybe the feeling will pass and you won't need to do anything, you feel like your boss will take it too personally and not be helpful in making some sort of change, and finally, you and your boss have never talked openly about your career possibilities.
