So, say you are young, er, millenials, and you are in a band..and you have no money. Say, you want to produce a music video to promote your band but you have no money, no equipment, and no type of director to make a video for you.
Where do you turn? If you are the British group “Get Out Clause” you turn to the worlds largest collection of Closed Circuit TV cameras: London!
This group recorded their song in from of 80 public CCTV and used the British equivalent of the Freedom of Information Act, the UK Data Protection Act to obtain the footage of them playing,
They then spliced the footage together using a program called iMove (not to be confused with iMovie) and viola! A ready made music video posted on You Tube and ready for the world to view, with a cost of about Zero to produce.
Really nice effort. The mother of invention and all of that stuff.
For some reason, I thought of some of David Warlick’s talks about how the digital natives ( I hate that term) think differently than the previous generation. I guess he might be right.
