Matt 12:15-21 "Aware of this, Jesus withdrew from that place. Many followed him, and he healed all their sick, warning them not to tell who he was. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: "Here is my servant whom I have chosen, the one I love, in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations. He will not quarrel or cry out; no one will hear his voice in the streets. A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out, till he leads justice to victory. In his name the nations will put their hope."

"A bruised reed He will not break."

"A smoldering wick He will not snuff out."

JESUS TREATED PEOPLE AS BRUISED REEDS AND SMOLDERING WICKS!

a.) Ps 147:3 "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

b. Isa 40:9-11 "You who bring good tidings to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You who bring good tidings to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with a shout, lift it up, do not be afraid; say to the towns of Judah, "Here is your God!" See, the Sovereign LORD comes with power, and his arm rules for him. See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him. He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young."

c.) Isa 32:1-2 "See, a king will reign in righteousness and rulers will rule with justice.
Each man will be like a shelter from the wind and a refuge from the storm, like streams of water in the desert and the shadow of a great rock in a thirsty land."

IN GOD'S EYES WE ARE ALL BRUISED REEDS AND SMOLDERING WICKS!
WE CAN TRUSTINGLY AND PENITENTLY COME TO HIM FOR FRIENDSHIP, PROTECTION, ENCOURAGEMENT AND SALVATION!

Isa 42:3-8 "In faithfulness he will bring forth justice; he will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth. In his law the islands will put their hope." This is what God the LORD says — he who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and all that comes out of it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it: "I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness. I am the LORD; that is my name!"

THE WORLD DOES NOT SEE WHAT THE LORD WANTS THEM TO SEE! 
Matt 13:13-15 “This is why I speak to them in parables: "Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand. In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: "'You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. For this people's heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.'

AT TIMES EVEN THE DISCIPLES DO NOT SEE!  
Mark 8:17-21 Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked them: "Why are you talking about having no bread? Do you still not see or understand? Are your hearts hardened? Do you have eyes but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear? And don't you remember? When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many basketfuls of pieces did you pick up?" "Twelve," they replied. "And when I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many basketfuls of pieces did you pick up?" They answered, "Seven." He said to them, "Do you still not understand?" 
John 4:34-35 “My food," said Jesus, "is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. Do you not say, 'Four months more and then the harvest'? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.”

ARE WE SEEING THE DAMAGED, MISGUIDED PEOPLE IN THE WORLD? 
John 4:13-14 Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."

DO WE SEE THE ABANDONED, UNGUIDED PEOPLE IN THE WORLD? 
Mark 6:34 When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things.

DO WE SEE THOSE WHO LABOR IN VAIN? 
John 6:26-29 Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, you are looking for me, not because you saw miraculous signs but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval." Then they asked him, "What must we do to do the works God requires?" Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent."

THE LORD WILL OPEN OUR EYES WHEN WE SURRENDER OUR HEARTS TO SHARING THE GOOD NEWS? 
Mark 16:15-17 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”

Shining as Lights in the World by Letting God work in us.

2 Tim 3:14-17 "But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

THE BIBLE IS GOD'S GIFT - "All Scripture is God-breathed" 
2 Peter 1:19-21 "And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit."

THE BIBLE IS GOD'S GUIDANCE 
"and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness"

THE BIBLE IS GOD'S GUARANTEE 
"so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

GIVE ME THE BIBLE 
"you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus."

PARENTS ARE THE PRIMARY TEACHERS OF CHILDREN!

Deut 6:6-8 "These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." 
Deut 4:9-10 "Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them. Remember the day you stood before the LORD your God at Horeb, when he said to me, "Assemble the people before me to hear my words so that they may learn to revere me as long as they live in the land and may teach them to their children." 
2 Tim 1:5-6 "I have been reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also."  2 Tim 3:14-16 "But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus." 
Eph 6:4 "Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord."

GOD DOES HIS BEST WORK THROUGH SERVANT TEACHERS SO YOU MUST NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF YOUR MINISTRY!

Heb 4:12 "For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." 
John 6:63 "The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life."

YOU ARE TEACHING BY YOUR WORDS AND EXAMPLE!

1 Tim 4:16 "Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers."  Titus 2:7-8 "In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned..."

ALWAYS BE GENTLE AND AVOID CONTROVERSIES THAT DO NOT PRODUCE HEALTH IN THE BODY!

Titus 2:1 "You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine." 
2 Tim 2:23-26 "Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will."

MAJOR IN THE TRUTHS ABOUT JESUS CHRIST!

1 Tim 2:3-6 "This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men-the testimony given in its proper time." 
"How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news..." TO OUR CHILDREN!
