3/08 to present Infoition News Services, Arlington, Va.

Editor-in-Chief: Charged with managing the content department of this provider of customized news and information to Fortune 500 companies, high-profile trade associations, congressional committees and White House officials. Responsible for all content generated by the company’s researchers/reporters. This job requires the development of highly innovative news products and services to meet the needs of corporate, public and civic leaders wanting information anytime, anywhere. The job also requires the development and management of systems that allow Infoition’s editorial staff, who live nationwide, to communicate with each other quickly and effectively.


  1. 5/07 to 2/08 Assistant Features Editor/Multimedia Editor: Oversee development and production of online content to complement the newspaper’s daily features section. Deliver ongoing tech training to colleagues. Contribute regularly to the newspaper’s print edition. Appointed from 1999 to 2004 to oversee this unique fund, which supports journalists fighting for First Amendment interests. Charged with disbursing grants and with helping to provide legal support in First Amendment cases.

Elected 1999. President, 2001-02

Created and managed a month-long celebration of Chicago journalism in October 2002 and October 2003. In those two years, the series attracted about 1,500 people and raised nearly $30,000. The Brownlee Series continues to be held annually.
