Ironically, this is not my cat. Meet Miss Kitty, the neighbor’s cat who decided my porch cushions were the perfect place for a little afternoon doze.

I decorated my back porch in the same general colors as the kitchen from which it extends-- green, lavender and just a touch of pink. By afternoon, the sun hits this area pretty severely. So to make it more comfortable for sitting, and to soften the look a little, I just took an old pretty bedsheet, punctured three small holes in the top of it, and hung it from shower curtai

n hooks on three cup-hooks I screwed into the ceiling of the porch.

When it’s not too sunny, I fasten it back with a string of vintage pearls.

The seating came from two different places-- a home improvement store that was going out-of-business and Big Lots. And while the patterns on the wrought iron settee and bistro set are not the same, they do feel like they go together. That’s just because the color of wrought iron is comparable.
