Flea markets can be a great source of treasures, from collectibles and garage-sale type items, to architectural salvage and antiques. The Pittsburgh area is home to both indoor and outdoor flea markets, some of which run year-round, and some which run only spring through fall. If you plan to go flea marketing, you’ll want to make sure you get there early enough that you have time to see everything. Vendors in this area tend to set-up at the crack of dawn, so particularly in the heat of summer, they’re tired and ready to pack up by around 11 am or noon.
Note, for people looking for info on The Meadows Flea Market at the Race Track, it moved to Falconi Field in Washington, PA. Please see the Washington Antiques Fair entry below.
Blazer’s Flea Market
7085 Big Beaver Blvd, Route 18 N, Beaver Falls, PA 15010
(724) 384-5055
I don’t normally list venues I haven’t yet been to, but I just learned about this one and might not make it out there before flea market season is over-- so I wanted you folks to have the info. This flea market is located in the old Blazer’s skating rink, and I understand there is new and used merchandise, including furniture and antiques, gift items, groceries, collectibles, toys, household goods, clothing, books, jewelry, crafts, and more. Anyone who attends, I’d love to hear from you about your experience.
Boulevard Bring and Sell

This venue is closed. (Sniff.... sob....)
The U.F.O. (Used Furniture Outlet)
320 S Pennsylvania Ave, Greensburg, PA (724) 834-9070
It may say, “used furniture,” but its nickname, “UFO,” sums it up just a bit better. Here you’ll certainly see the unexpected. Piles of vintage sheet music, shelves of books older and new, lamps and lamp shades, records, picture frames, prints, antiques, and yes, used furniture. An unusual feature of the place is its large $1 section, which contains garage sale sort of bits-and-bobs, many of which can be helpful in finishing off a vignette on a table, mantle or shelf.
Rossi’s Pop-up Flea Market- NEWLY ADDED 10/08/07
200 Loews Dr., North Versailles, PA, (412) 824-3090
I just came across this flea market, located in the old Loews Theater in North Versailles, behind the WalMart. The outdoor portion of the flea market is at the back of the Rossi’s building. Inside, the merchandise is largely new, though there are some vendors with vintage items. (Make sure to note there are large rooms of stuff off the main wings-- each former theater room now has vendors. It’s a bit of a maze.) Outside, there was a mix of new and old, and a little of everything. The announcer telling about various food vendors lends a carnival barker atmosphere to things. Prices vary, though I feel I got some fair prices on the items I did buy. I don’t know if this is where some of the vendors from the Super Flea (listed below) have gone-- that was fairly empty the last time I went there.
Super Flea- Flea Market-- CLOSING- Updated 6/15/08
833 E Pittsburgh Mckeesport Blvd, North Versailles, PA
This flea market’s sign reads that it is closing soon. It seemed to have a few dates listed yet for June and July, and after that, I guess it’s all over. This is the one that’s located up, up and away back behind the Destinta Theater in North Versailles
Washington Antiques Fair (formerly the Meadows)
Falconi Field, Washington PA (724) 228-3045
Formerly at the Meadows Racetrack, this flea market has moved down the road to Falconi Field, Washington County. I haven’t visited it yet in 2006, but in 2005 I found I didn’t care for it quite as much as I had at the previous location. I felt at the time there were fewer vendors and the paying-and-parking process appeared less organized—it took quite a while just to get into the venue to park. And yes, there is admission: $3 a person. In the past I’d felt it was worth it, because there had been everything from vintage and antique furniture to art prints, garden items and plenty of Victoriana. I plan to give it a go this year again and reevaluate my assessment. I’ll update this then. The flea market is the last Sunday of the month March through October.
