Dining Room
My diningroom also acts as a sort of parlor.
I don’t have a ton of rooms, but liked the idea of having a few elements that were truly Victorian in style. So when I saw the reproduction fainting sofa above in the warehouse section of Levin Furniture, I did a little negotiation and it came home with me. It was my first official piece of furniture (that didn’t involve sawboard, that is!).
Thrifted art... By the way, since people ask, there is no actual Gallery of Foundling Art in one room in my house. It’s all worked in, in various places based on color. The only place the paintings all live together is online.
These period light fixtures were one reason I was totally sold on the house...
Occasionally I stumble on similar ones, so the plan is to change the non-period fixtures over to ones more like these. These are in the livingroom and in variation in the entryway, too.
