for Wind Ensemble

Commissioned by the North Jersey Area Wind Ensemble for their 45th Anniversary Concert, Medieval Variations is an Homage to the late Norman Dello Joio.  The theme is original to Yurko but is suggestive of the Medieval style.  Six variations follow:  Var. I for Brass choir and Percussion, Var. II for Double Reeds, Var. III for Woodwind Choir, Var. IV for Saxophone Quartet and Percussion, Var. V, a march for the tutti ensemble, and Var. VI, also for full wind ensemble.  This exciting new work will be premiered in January of 2009, after which it will be available for sale.
