We went to Silver Lake, high in the Sierras near lake Tahoe, for a vacation back in September 2004. It was a lovely stay. The weather started out sunny and warm, and got a bit colder and cloudier as the days went on (it even snowed a little!), so we had the gamut of late-summer mountain weather. It would be wonderful to return some day.
