I am an interdisciplinary artist using drawing, digital media, collage, film and photography to document matter and spaces. I am fascinated with the notion of memory retained within material space, as well as how our own memories can affect our awareness of objects and places.
I have always believed that the passage of time is the melting pot that adds mystery to the human experience. In the course of my investigations I have felt “vibrations” or “echoes” in certain places or in the handling of certain objects. I ask myself if others have this perception? How do they relate to these places and objects? If I know the history of my subject does it change how I feel about it? What role does my history play in understanding the evidence of our world?
My intention is to venture through into history, knowledge, and memory to decipher ideas of how these transmit over time. Whether using a camera, computer, camcorder, or pen and pencil, my inclination is to stimulate the viewer’s memory and perspective on the passage of time and consider how it alters our perception...
