The goals of the 1 to 1 laptop immersion grant are:

• Increase academic achievement

• Expand the learning horizons from local to global

• Address the problems facing urban schools

• Provide continuing professional development

Timeline

January to February 2007:     laptops provided to 6th grades at Lincoln Magnet School, Franklin Middle School, Grant Middle School, Washington Middle School

October 2007: Laptops provided to  7th grade at Jefferson Middle School

December 2007: Laptops provided to 6th graders at Lincoln Magnet School, Franklin Middle School, Grant Middle School

February 2008: Laptops provided to 6th graders at Jefferson Middle School

September 2008: Laptops in 7th and 8th grade classrooms  Jefferson Middle School
