They were a little more than he’d originally quoted, they smell a bit like smoke (the guy who covered them is a chain smoker) but I have them and I think they look fantastic!!!!
The photos don’t really do them Justice. The yellow is a little lighter than it looks and vinyl has a slight texture to it that doesn’t come through too well in the photo. I’m including two close-ups of just the vinyl. Neither has the colour quite right but they’re close. I think the 1st one is closer.
I also built a little ladder(that fits in the cupboard) to discourage climbing on the counter.
And I got a new mirror that is the original size that the good people at Mirror works made for me at an awesome price and I didn’t even have to go get it ‘cause my super neighbor Dave did it for me. It’s a good day.
Something odd I’d like to mention though. We had never tried to set up the dinette as a bed before but since we had our lovely new benches we thought we’d give it a go. It didn’t work. Let me preface this with maybe I’m clueless, but I assumed that the table would drop down onto the two groovy little lips on the edge of the bench supports and the benches would then lay down on top. Thus making a super comfy bed. It doesn’t work. the table is about 3” too narrow. I figure there are two possible explanations. I’m doing it wrong or at some point someone swapped the original table for a table out of a smaller Shasta. The formica matches. I’ll be looking into this conundrum soon. If all goes well I won’t come out the other end feeling too foolish.
