When I redid the bunk I painted the galvanized poles a soft grey. It really cleaned them up. I used left over 1/4” ply from the floor and gave it a coat of shellac to clean it up. And I made the trim piece out of pine and did it to match the trim on the sofa bed. The whole thing can be put up or taken down in about 5 minutes. I like it better visually and my 9 year old say’s it is far more comfortable.
My dinette benches are supposed to be ready mid next week. I’m very excited. I ended up going with a simple soft yellow with white piping. I hope it looks good. I can’t wait. I ordered a mirror yesterday and it should be ready by Tuesday. My finish nails were back ordered and still haven’t come in. I’m hoping next week, so I can get the trim up. After that even if the rain doesn’t stop I’m taking out the broken windows. I guess I’ll have to buy a BIG tarp. She’s scheduled for exterior painting at the end of August and I’d like to have the rest done by then. Oh, I also ordered an awning from www.vintagetrailersupply.com and am waiting, not so patiently, for that to arrive.
We’re taking her out for our maiden voyage next weekend. I’m excited about that too.
