Craig began our new series - Zipped - by looking at complaining. From the people of Israel who were in the wilderness to the disciples of Jesus – complaining is something we find in the Bible. Complaining effects and expresses our attitude. It also effects others around us. Craig encouraged us to use words of life and encouragement. And, when it comes to complaining we learned that it is best to keep it zipped!

Control. Most of us like it. Some of us like it way too much. Those who have an unhealthy obsession with control are ironically controlled by control. Craig looked at what the Bible says about control. His message was that we should stop trying to control our future and experience the peace that comes from trusting God.

Sometimes the busyness and stresses of life can be overwhelming. We carry worries and burdens that can make life even more difficult. Yet many of us don’t like to seek help from others and from God. Life is not meant to be lived in isolation from others or from God. Craig challenged us to realize that we don’t have what it takes to handle it and to enlist help from others and God.

People pleasers. You have heard of them before. Maybe you are even one of them. Most people pleasers are wonderful people who genuinely want what is best for others. The problem is that no matter how hard we try to please others; sometimes our best isn’t going to be good enough. Next week Craig will talk about what it means to live for God by choosing to find our validation and acceptance in Him rather than people.

Do you ever feel that life is like walking on a tightrope? During the first message of our new series, You Don't Have What it Takes, Craig revealed areas in our lives where we feel unworthy and and told us we will find confidence in God’s unconditional love. The big idea next week is this simple truth of life: God accepts us through Christ. We are no longer living for his approval, but from His approval.
Interview with Larry Brown and Fred Wilson

As part of Comedy Sunday 5, Craig did two interviews. The first interview is with Larry Brown, who donated one of his kidneys to a friend. Larry shares that experience. The second interview is with Fred Wilson, one of the survivors of the Von Maur shootings. Fred tells his story of forgiveness and how he lives each day as a gift from God.
Overcoming Addictions

An addiction is an obsession, compulsion, or excessive psychological dependence on something. Some of us have severe addictions. Most of us have casual cumpulsions. God can help us regain balance and wholeness in our lives. Others can help too. Craig and Joseph O’Meara gave us a message of hope that recovery from addiction is possible. Craig interviewed Aaron Johnson who shared his story of addiction and recovery.
