This week's obscure person is Mephibosheth. Mephibosheth teaches us about rebounding from misfortune. He teaches us about hope. And he teaches us about living life in the presence of God despite our imperfection. Craig was joined for this message by Donna Zito.

Craig started our new sermon series, Obscure People of the Bible, as he looked at Job's wife. This woman, who wasn't even given a name, shares something in common with many us: she loves somebody who is suffering. It's one thing to suffer. It's another thing to have somebody we love suffer. Craig shared with us biblical insight and practical wisdom to help those who are suffering and to encourage us care for ourselves and allow God to care for us when people we love are suffering. Craig shares with us what the Holy Spirit does in our lives and how we can be filled with the Holy Spirit. Craig also interviews visually-impaired marathon runner, Kurt Fiene, and our missions coordinator, Allison Frazier, about how the Holy Spirit is working in their lives.

The Bible says that the Holy Spirit is the living and active presence of God with us. The Bible also assures us that the Holy Spirit is able to help, heal, comfort, guide, and love us. The Bible has been around thousands of years. The Bible gives us something we all need: hope. Craig shared with us this week how to read it so that we can create an environment for God to transform our lives.

Craig continues our series about the Bible. People live by it and have their morals shaped by it. But how many of us actually bother to read it.
