Get me off this van

So I didn’t go shopping (sorry mom) I went to the lake instead.
It’s a major miracle that I
survived the ride there. It
was a roller coaster drive
with twist and turns to
cause even the atheists to
pray to God.

Our driver was incredibly
insane. (Dad he was driving
like I did on that Vegas trip
but he was on these super high mountains with little to no guardrails verses our drive in the middle of flat desert)

Somewhere during the middle of the trip and
after a hour of prayer the crazy driver man
turned on the radio and that “Gloria” song
came on. Ya, know the one by Laura
Branigan. This of course made me think of
Bonnie and the little girl from the
orphanage in Mexico. Before you know it I’m reminiscing about all the great moments from our Mexico trip. Totally forgetting that I’m in middle of no where Guatemala. Then some girl, Jana, taps me on the shoulder from the back seat and starts telling me how she’s done mission work in Guatemala. Coincidence? Maybe she was reading my mind.

It seems that there’s an old church
in Guatemala like there’s a
Starbuck’s on every corner at home.
So when the my tour guide told me
that there was a beautiful church
just a quick boat ride away,
I believed him. See this picture?
Yeah that’s the church I paid $20
too much to see.

Despite my disappointment I went inside. I “had church” all by myself. After all, it was Sunday and I was in God’s house. It
was actually very cool. After church
I watched the soccer game with the
locals. There weren’t any seats so
everyone stood or sat on the roof.

                        I’m rambling and complaining a
little bit here but I do have a point.
                        I can’t remember it now but I know I had a message when I started typing :-)

OK, that’s enough for now. I’m going to go study. Below are a couple of pictures I wanted to show you. Look at these
                    beautiful women.

                    And because it’s Sunday
                    and I miss my
                    church I want to
                    share with you a
                    verse from my bible
                    study.

  Isaiah 40:28-31
       Do you not know?
       Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
                               and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD
                                                    will renew their strength.
                                                    They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
