In our second appearance in the Centurio circuit we’ve stepped up to division 1. For this year division 1 is no longer traditional 5-man but Xball lite. For those who are unaware with paintball formats or been living in another planet for the past 3 years xball is a speedball game with multiple game points (instead of one game which ends with a flag hang) with game periods, time-outs and full spectator support. The light version of Xball played in the Centurio the game is limited to 15 minutes or whoever reaches four points first.

And there we were, 6 months after the very succesful centurio event in Thessaloniki the organizers brought back the Centurio and this time in our home town. Inside a local football stadium with enough stands for spectators and good grass we were set under the sunny weather to have one of our best paintball experiences.

Our draw placed us in group B as the third team under the Polish Ranger and Los Lobos and above Minsk United from Belarus. 1st game vs Minsk United started at 15:00 we had plenty of time for watching the games and getting ready. Our very first point was lost due to our own stupidity, 3 players were not touching their barrels on the flag station and were pulled off :-( . But after the first time out the team rolled and managed to win with a 4-1 score. On the stands , fellow greek ballers were cheering making a very pleasant environment to play at :D

Second game was against Ranger, from Poland, a team that had better experience and managed to win us easily with a 4-0 however due to our mistakes we managed to give away some points.

Saturday ended with us tied up with Los Lobos in the 2nd place and Ranger on the 1st, it was to be decided on the Sunday game who was to proceed into the 8.

On Sunday game started on 10 AM and the support from the stands was great, on field things weren’t looking so good, we lost the 2 first points however with decisive moves at the snake, we turned the game upside down and won the game by 3 to 2 when the time ended. We were at the top 8...

We waited to see who was going to be our opponent from group C which was a very open group. With 3 teams having from two points each. We got to play with Warsaw United, another team from Poland and from now on each game was a knockout.

We managed to loose the 1st point but fought back and got the game back to equal, then Warsaw U. advanced again but we didn’t let them open the gap by winning the 4th game and bringing the score to 2-2 , four minutes were left on the stopwatch and the crowd was bigger and louder than ever calling Hellas Hellas and Supreme whoever got to win this point would certainly had an advantage over the remaining minutes. We lost the 3rd point and the opportunity to take the lead at the end. As soon as the game seemed lost we “threw the towel” (ended the point) in order to save time and go for another point to equalize the game. With two minutes we needed to hurry but unfortunately we lost that point as well ending the game with a 4-2 score and the 7th place.

That was the tournament finale for us, missing the semi finals by a few points but with a lot of experience gained which will help us for the next tournaments during the centurio quest.
