April 15, 2007. So the next installment in Bendi Records’ Serene Dominic Reissue Campaign is a year late. It was worth the wait.  This Expanded 11th Anniversary Edition includes three unreleased songs from the original Heathens sessions and four additional songs released only on WorryBird singles plus new artwork and sleeve notes from Mr. Dominic himself. This Halloween, Serene performed as Victoria Masters, a post-menopausal chanteuse from Long Island for the first time in 10 years at the Tremulants’ CD release party.  Said  Serene, “This whole masquerade has been an exercise in the law of diminishing returns. Ten years ago, people were saying I looked like Glenn Close in makeup. Now  they tell me I look like Linda Trip.”

It’s been hard road describing to people exactly what it is that Serene Dominic is, which is why these 15-minute monthly vidcasts are essential to cracking this nut. The internet has provided this Renaissance man (well present hairware anyway) the forum to do what he does best, dig up new stories others ignore, interview musicians in the dumb fashion he wishes someone would interview him and then he caps off each episode with a musical video that hopefully ties it all together and teaches a valuable lesson. Sorta like that pesky neighbor kid Ricky did at the end of The Partridge Family (see below video clip of “I’m a Taker” from Episode 4 for further proof).
