Fields of Gold
Fields of Gold
The Tab is made up of ‘blocks” try to learn them one at a time. Start real slow but with the correct rhythm (which is very simple) and gradually build up speed. Practice little sections individually if you struggle. Give your fingers time to get used to the shapes.
You can then string them together in almost any order to play this song and it will sound fine.
This is me going through the blocks roughly in turn.
Sounds OK doesn’t it?
Without going all bohemian try to “feel” the song as you play it.
Let me know how you get on, good luck and enjoy it.

This is another great tune for beginners to have a go at because it gets you into some simple chord shapes and has some double hammer-ons for you to get your head around.
This pieced is based on the Sting song - all credit to him of course and this version is purely for personal or study purposes. The tab I am using comes from a bloke called David Hodge at this site. I highly recommend this site and David in particular for some excellent on line “lessons”.
Here are the two main chord shapes we will use;
C plus added optional pinky on the B string and G.
